Comment: This traffic shift and diversion is to facilitate ongoing construction of the new roundabout at the southwest edge of Owensboro. The traffic diversion will begin on KY 81/Calhoun-Owensboro Road at the south end of the project and extend to the intersection with KY 56/West Parrish Avenue. The diversion will create a 90 degree “T” intersection at KY 56 and KY 81. Motorists should take note that all northbound traffic on KY 81/Calhoun-Owensboro Road will be required to stop at the intersection. The traffic diversion will allow the contractor to remove the existing section of KY 81 and move ahead with the construction of the roundabout. The diversion will be in place for several months.
